Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do at Curam.

Alex is my name and I’m 26 and a half years of age and I am the e-commerce manager at Curam.

As an e-commerce manager you do most things that can be done in the digital realm of commerce. I do anything and everything from search engine optimization (SEO) in different channels such as Facebook, Youtube, Google, LinkedIn and so on. I do advertising and digital marketing and of course the really fun stuff which is looking at numbers and making analysis via Google Analytics, Facebook Business and the own website of course.

What’s a typical day like for you at Curam?

I start my days in the best possible way, fixing breakfast for my hoard of guinea pigs and then heading straight for the gym! As you can tell I lead a very luxurious lifestyle.

After gym I brew my coffee and check my email. The best part about starting off reading my emails is that I always get energized by reading super positive and happy emails from my boss.

After that I set my to-do list for the day. After that I check the orders that have come in during the night and make sure that everything looks good and that there are no hiccups in the logistics flow. Then it’s time to look at statistics and numbers so that I’m always up to date on what’s happening with our cuppies and brand, and then it’s time to get at my to-do list!

And of course I make sure to have a lot of cupping and coffee breaks during my day, mandatory cuddles with the guinea pigs, walks outdoors and yoga here and there. (Yes I do work… Promise…)

3 things most people don’t know about you

  1. I’m dad to 5 beautiful boys… 5 guinea pigs that is…
  2. I speak Japanese and have lived and studied in Tokyo, Japan is my favourite country, utterly unbeatable!
  3. I own 3 of every record and merch my favourite band has produced too this day.

What’s the best part about working for Curam?

Simple question worthy of a simple answer, our CEO, Marie. Find a happier and more inspiring person, I dare you!

And of course the job is fun, I get to do all the things I enjoy doing and I have a boss that is genuinely interested in what I have to say and in what I do, a quality few possess but one that is ever so important. And last but not least I get to work with products that I genuinely believe can help a lot of people. I myself who’s had years long of neck and back pain have found cupping combined with the right exercise to help tremendously for swollen and aching muscles, instead of having to spend thousands on doctors I can help myself at home.

What did you do before you got into e-commerce?

I come from the hotel and tourism industry. Most recently I was the front desk and conference manager of a super cool hotel located in central Stockholm! Before then I’ve worked in Greece with tourism amongst other things.

You mentioned that you love Japan, what’s the best thing about Japan?

EVERYTHING! Beautiful, clean, kind people, beautiful language, amazing culture, rich in history, good food and drinks everywhere. Plus people care about the place they live in which is why the country and its cities are kept immaculate, Tokyo is so clean you could eat right off the street. But more about Japan in another post.

Final question, if you can give our readers one recommendation, what would that be?

Well if you’ve read this far I ask that you do something that I have to remind myself of every now and then.

Close your eyes, breathe calmly, and let all of the muscles in your face relax. Start with your forehead and feel the tension in your muscles ease, then ease up the tension around the eyes, cheeks and mouth. Feels great doesn’t it?
