Q: Is it normal to get marks after cupping?

Yes, marks can occur, especially with static cupping on the body or with facial cupping if the treatment has been too intense for your skin. The marks are usually harmless and fade on their own after a few days. We recommend starting very gently and allowing both the body and skin to adapt. Follow the recommendations in our instruction videos found under each cup on our website.

Q: Is it normal to feel tired or dizzy after cupping?

Some people may experience tiredness, mild dizziness, or temporary discomfort after cupping. This is usually short lived and may be due to increased circulation and the body’s response to the treatment. Always start gently and take a break from cupping if you feel dizzy. At your next session, start even more gently.

Q: What is the difference between static and dynamic cupping?

Static cupping means placing the cup on an area and leaving it in place for a short period of time. Dynamic cupping involves moving the cup in soft, gliding motions over the skin together with oil. The choice of method depends on the area, purpose, and personal preference.

This reaction is completely harmless and usually fades within a few days. To soothe the skin, you can apply a gentle moisturizing oil or cream with calming ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, or lavender. A cold compress can also help reduce redness. Next time, use lighter suction, fewer strokes per area, and shorter treatment time. Always use a good facial oil, keep the cup moving, and start gently.

Q: What can happen if I leave the cup on for too long?

If a cup is left on the skin for too long, especially during static cupping (when the cup stays in one place), the skin may react with a fluid-filled blister – similar to a mild burn or friction blister. This is the same kind of reaction the skin might have if exposed to prolonged pressure or irritation, such as from sunburn or rubbing shoes. The blister occurs because the vacuum pressure from the cup disrupts the microcirculation and creates too much localized strain, causing fluid to collect between the layers of the skin. It’s not dangerous, but it can feel uncomfortable. Here’s how to care for your skin if a blister appears: Leave the blister alone. If it’s intact, don’t pop it. The blister protects the sensitive skin underneath. Protect the area if there’s a risk of friction, for example by using a breathable plaster or dressing that doesn’t stick to the blister. If the blister bursts or the area is painful, gently clean it with wound cleanser, apply an antibacterial ointment if needed, and cover with a sterile dressing. Contact a healthcare provider if the area becomes red, sore, oozes, or shows signs of infection. Avoid cupping on the affected area until the skin is fully healed, to prevent further irritation.
