Q: Can I cup if I have visible blood vessels on my legs?

If you have visible blood vessels on your legs, such as superficial veins, varicose veins, or spider veins, it’s best to be cautious when using massage cups. Cupping massage increases blood circulation and may sometimes lead to additional irritation of already visible blood vessels. This can make the blood vessels appear more prominent or, in some cases, worsen the condition. It is recommended to consult with a doctor or licensed therapist before using massage cups on your own if you have issues with visible blood vessels. For lymphatic massage, you can use the facial cup as it has a much gentler vacuum suction and is more suitable for delicate areas.

Q: Can I cup my face if I have had fillers?

If you have had fillers, it is advisable to avoid facial cupping immediately after the treatment. Cupping can create pressure and movement that may affect the placement of the filler and lead to undesired results. We recommend waiting approximately four weeks after a filler treatment before starting facial cupping. Always consult with your practitioner for specific guidelines based on your treatment. If you experience swelling after fillers, cupping can be beneficial as it stimulates lymphatic flow, which can sometimes be negatively affected by fillers. Cupping can also help increase skin contact and enhance the overall sensation in the face.

Q: It hurts a lot when I do cupping, is this normal?

If the fascia (connective tissue) is tight, if you're swollen, have a lot of cellulite, or have been exercising a lot, it can sometimes be very painful. However, it is not dangerous. If the pain feels uncomfortably intense, start very gently with less vacuum suction and don’t cup for too long. It’s a good idea to start with static use to warm up the area before you begin dynamic cupping. The more you increase circulation and loosen the connective tissue with the cups, the less it will hurt in the future. Remember to drink extra water after cupping.

Q: I've learned that you're only supposed to cup from bottom to top? Is it okay to cup in both directions?

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), from which cupping originates, cupping is practiced in both directions—upwards and downwards. The main purpose of cupping in TCM is to enhance the flow of qi (life energy) and blood throughout the body. Techniques and directions are adjusted based on the treatment purpose, the person&#39;s health condition, and specific needs. For optimal lymphatic massage, the cup should be moved towards the lymph nodes. On all areas below the collarbone, the cup should be glided from bottom to top towards the nearest major lymph node. For the face and maximum lymphatic drainage, the cup should be moved from top to bottom towards the lymph node at the collarbone.

Q: Can I do cupping on my varicose veins?

No, you should avoid cupping directly on varicose veins. Cupping increases blood flow and pressure in the area, which can worsen the varicose veins and pull them out further or cause irritation. Instead, cup gently around the area to stimulate blood circulation.

Q: I got bruises on my face after cupping, did I do something wrong?

If you got bruises on your face after cupping, it may indicate that the suction was too strong for your skin, you cupped for too long or the cup was left in one spot. It's important to use gentle pressure and keep the cups moving in smooth, gliding motions. To avoid bruising in the future, start with a light suction and gradually increase as your skin gets used to the treatment. Q: Doesn't facial cupping stretch out the skin?

Facial cupping does not stretch out the skin when done correctly. In fact, it can have the opposite effect by improving skin elasticity and promoting a more toned appearance. The gentle suction created by facial cupping stimulates blood flow and encourages collagen production, which helps to firm and lift the skin over time. It's important to use proper technique—light pressure, smooth gliding motions (never leave still), and start very gentle.

Q: Can I use the mini face cup on my entire face?
