Prolonged physical exertion can cause changes in the connective tissue. Damage to the body is naturally repaired by the formation of new connective tissue. But with sustained stress, such as stress and muscle tension, too much new connective tissue is produced. It becomes tight and inelastic, which impairs blood circulation and mobility.
Muscle tension and muscle imbalances, mental or physical pain and circulatory disorders are other examples of conditions that create changes in the connective tissue.
